Panamure Elephant

Panamure Elephant  is the king of the Elephant Group,who lived on Panamure jungle,near Panamure village,near to Rathnapura Town.Last few month I got a opportunity to read the book called Panamure Elephant.The author of the book was Piyasena Kahadagamage.I would like to share this elephant story in this blog.

Panamure is a village located in the Ratnapura District of the Sabaragamuwa Province, Sri Lanka. The Panamure Elephant was the leader of a large herd of 22 elephants, including both adult and young elephants, living in Panamure.

In 1950, an elephant kraal (traditional elephant capture) was organized by Sir Francis Molamure to capture this herd. Although the group was caught, the Panamure Elephant proved uncontrollable. He managed to direct and protect the other elephants, attempting to free them from the trap. Eventually, people were able to control the herd — all except the Panamure Elephant.

They attempted to release him by opening the barriers, but he refused to leave his herd. The captured elephants were kept confined for over 30 days. During this time, new elephant calves were born, and the elder female elephants began producing milk to feed the newborns, making the situation increasingly difficult to manage.

Finally, Sir Francis Molamure decided to kill the Panamure Elephant to resolve the situation. According to the rules at the time, an elephant had to be killed with a single bullet. The Sri Lankan Police attempted to carry this out but failed. Sir Francis then sought a skilled marksman and eventually found a man named Kadiragaman, who successfully shot and killed the Panamure Elephant.

Following the incident, the opposition party (the Communist Party) organized protests against the government. As a result, the government introduced a parliamentary rule banning elephant kraals in the future.

Thus, the 1950 Panamure Elephant Kraal became the last elephant kraal ever held in Sri Lanka. Due to his sacrifice, the Panamure Elephant became a revered symbol — remembered as the elephant who gave freedom to Sri Lanka's wild elephants.

Refrigerator Market in Sri Lanka

My next research on buy a refrigerater.I have gone through a research in Sri Lankan market.In Sri Lanka you can find many models.But I consider mainly three suppiler.They are Abans,Singer and Samsung Delar in Singhagiri.There are many more dealer in Sri Lanka.But i could not get a chance to visit them.

Also in my rented house in colombo has a space issue.My rented place Entrance width is 2 feets(24 inches).So i did not consider fridge who has width more than 2 feets.So in Sri lanka market i found basically 6 models.

They are 1 model on Samsung ,3 on Singer brand,2 on Sisil brands.

1.Samsung RA19 Refrigerator
Direct Cool Refrigerator 190 Liters
This product is good for family with four members.product width is 2 feets.

2.Singer Model No - R-SDC47P 47 Liters
This product is too small according to my knowledge and also i belive it's not worth to money you spend on it.Freezer is too small,can not put 1 liter ice cream.

3.Singer Model No - R-RGS5   150 Liters
This product is not too small according to my knowledge,but it's medium size.It can be good for people who are rented in tempare house.This product is eazy to move.It can be good for two people usage.I feel Freezer is not stable.

4.Singer Model No - R-NST200
This product contains 2 doors ,One for freezer and one for other parts of the product.width of this product is extractly 2 feets.high is extractly five feets.capacity 190L

5.Sisil Model No - SL-R55N
This product contains one door.width of this product is below 2 feets and high is below five feets.capacity 150 L

6.Sisil Model No - SL-KR72V

This product contains one door.width of this product is below 2 feets and high is below five feets.Hand set of this product is similar to old Sisil fridge hand set.


According to my knowledge any refrigerater capacity 150L to 200L is good for family with four people.

six model i have mention in Sri lanka markets are suitable for family with four or five members except the Singer Model No - R-SDC47P.Price is also fair.Spare parts are also available through out the Sri lanka.

All the Sri Lankan governments so far fail to work out

1. work on the trains in a proper way.
Each Line at least 30 mins per one train.
For Example Every 30 mins Colombo - Galle track,no expess trains,every trains stop at every train station.
Colombo - Kandy Every 30 mins one trains.no express trains,every trains stop at every train station.
Colombo - Vavuniyawa every 30 mins one trains.
Colombo - Baddula every 30 mins one trains.
All the trains should stop at all the train way station.
2.Greate a trailway map and show it in all the trailway station.
Map should display all the train station in the country and what are the trains going on that track.
3.Implement or brought the train engine which are working on Electricity.Implement all the train track with the electricity line.
4.Use train to transport items as much as.
5.Every year increase the train ticket price 5%,But can not increase the price after that ,what ever happen with in that year.
6.Implement Bus track on the colombo city road.In any case one bus can not over take the other Bus.
7.With in the Colombo City Limited People can not used there private vechicle,with out buy a special ticket.This will reduce the colombo city traffic.
8.Bus fair can be increase 5% every year once a time.What ever happen ,it can not be increase with in that time period.
9.Main roads,(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5,A6...)converted to dual carriers.So in the road one side vechicle move on one direction.
10.implement Garbage recycle process with in colombo city.
Plastic convert to plastic and used it again.from the food wastage ,create composte fetiliser and sell in a small prices to farmers.
11.Put large garabage collecter bin every Bus stop.Every morning counil people should clean them up.After collecting garbage,grabage should placed on the recycle factory.Next these factory should convert these garbage into different product.Next put thses product in a cheap price in the market.
For example,Plastic covert again into plastic and create Plastic bag again and sell these bag in a cheap price in the market.

OpenOffice Writer -How to Remove Page Number only from Cover Page

Today morning i want to create Word Document.Normally write word document I am using Open Office Writer.In that Report I want to have page Number.But Then Cover Page should be with out page Number.In this situation i used the page Number as footer value.

As a developer,I want to share this information with other.Because I feel writing this information will help some one in the world in a some day in the future.

How I insert Page Number

Insert -> Footer-> Default
Insert -> Field -> PageNumber

Then the page Number is apply to all the pages including cover page.

How I remove Cover Page Page Number

select the cover page (start the curser with bottom of page and ended beginning of the page)
right click and select Pharagraph
Then you get a pop up window,which is mention on the image.

Break section
tick on insert
Type as Page
Position as Before
With Page Style as First Page
Page Number 0

Then you will see cover page Page Number disappear.

My volunteer experience with Oxfam shop

My University advice me to work as volunteer while i am Studying.I search for volunteer opportunity through out the London few days.Then i found Oxfam shop in Richmond area.After three successful interviews Oxfam manager select me as a Volunteer.So I just feel to write it down about Oxfam in my blog.

It was one of several local committees formed in support of the National Famine Relief Committee.

Oxfam has numerous shops all over the world, which sell many fair-trade and donated items. They opened their first charity shop in 1948.The proceeds from these usually get paid to different charities or are used to further Oxfam's relief efforts around the globe.
