Cirrhosis - my mother suffered

My mother got Cirrhosis and passed away in 2019 August month.I am writing this article using my own experience with her life.

We identify her Cirrhosis illness in 2015.Then it attacked her liver a lot.After that we did not give her a single panadol.We given her fruit and vegetables only.

Before the Cirrhosis she has very low level Diabetic condition and she control it using metformin tablet.But After the Cirrhosis ,her Diabetic level increase and she had to inject Insulin.

During Cirrhosis, if she got a infection ,it will directly attack her brain.So she lost her memory.After that we quickly hospitalized her and with the doctor's proper medicine she recovered her memory.

But after 4 years time she forgot most of the things.Her memory power gradual lost.

the way above image says We stand her hand and check whether it fall down,if it fall down then that means she lost her memory.

Also My mother having another issue after she retired from school teaching ,she lost her hearing,due to killing her hearing nervous.

So it's bit difficult to communicate with her.

Brief Garden ,Beruwala ,Sri Lanka

The Brief Garden, house, which used to be the home of landscape architect Bevis Bawa, brother of renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa.

Bawa was educated at Royal College Colombo, but had to leave school at seventeen when his father died while in England. His mother sent him to be trained as a planter at his uncles estates in order to take up the management of the family estate in Aluthgama know as Brief Estate.

I went to this garden last weekend.There were few Tourists in the garden .But there is only one Sri Lankan family.due to unawareness of Lankan s. It has nice architectural views.Even at Lunch time,the garden was very cool climate.One of the best places i visited in sri lanka.

Compost Bin

House Garbage is the one of the biggest issue in urban areas. But if you maintain your house garbage properly you can create compost fertilizer.
Nowadays Compost fertilizer is very famous among the farmers. Most farmers used Compost fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer.
In order to build up the Compost fertilizer,you need a Compost Bin.

In sri lanka you can buy them in many shops or else you can create one using Barrel. If you are using Barrel you need to create air holes your self.

In my research i have found out two shop in Sri Lanka,who sells Compost Bin. There can be many more places. But my reaseach based on these two places.
1. Arpico
2. Land Reclamation & Development Co.Ltd,Nawala

When you compare these two places items.

Aprico item is freely available through out Sri lanka. You can buy it any Aprico store. Also it made out of plastic. So durable.
But Land Reclamation & Development Co.Ltd item is not freely available,It's available only in Nawala,Hingurakgoda,Kotagala,Trincomalee and Ampara. Also it's made out of cement.
When you compare price wise, Aprico item is more expensive compare to Land Reclamation & Development Co.Ltd item.

What are the items,you can put into Compost Bin

2.Wet items - kitchen disposal items,parts of vegetables,parts of fruits


What are the items,you can not put into Compost Bin

1.plastic
2.Cardboard
3.Shopping bags,build from plastic

How to step up Compost Bin
===========================
1. first put a coconut coir mat (goni) at the bottom of the bin. It will be destroy at last,but it will help you to pick out the compost,at last.
2. next put a dry items layer
3. after that put a wet items layer
4. next put a dry items layer
5. after that put a wet items layer
like wise you have to maintain layers.


Apart from maintaining these layers,you have to insert water once a week. Also you have to collect kitchen items in a bag and put it to compost bin once a week. Then it will be easy to maintain the Compost bin layers.
In a way this Compost bin concept will be a good solution for the garbage problems. After a three months time,you can take out the compost fertilizer.

Travel Touch card used in Colombo City

Travel Touch card introduce to Sri lanka in 2013 December.Last month i brought a travel card from promotion campaign in borella area.
It cost Rs 200 and it contains value of Rs. 200.you can topped this card in any shop which can reloads to  mobile phones.

Now it is famous among the private buses in colombo city.CTB government buses do not support this feature.

Once you given this card to conductor,he will touch it on his machine.Then it will generate the bus ticket.

It's a good solution for bus service.Because handing money in a bus is difficult.Nowadays most conductors has a less exchangable money.Most of them do not have Rs 1,Rs 2 ,Rs 5 coins.So this card is a suitable solution for handling coins issue on a bus.

Most of the countries now used this system in their bus service.But it's a new experience for Lankans.This system implemented by Dialog,famous mobile service provider in Sri Lanka. 

Hand over Torn notes/damage notes to Bank of Ceylon

In the day to day life you will received  damage/torn notes.Please do not pass it to another person by hide it as a good note.It's not a good practice.Please hand over it to Bank.

If you are live in Sri Lanka you can hand over it to Bank Of Ceylon.But if you are live in another country,then you have to refer the process your country banks follows.But in this article i am talk about Sri lanka currency notes.

It's a natural thing once people use the notes 5 or 6 years,they will be get damage.But some notes will runs more than 10 years.I am point out if the note get damage then you need to remove it from society ,Because people will not willing to take damaged notes.




Process you need to follow to hand over damaged notes to bank.

1. take a A4 sheet.
2. Place the damaged note in the piece of paper.
3. give few minutes to make them dry.
4. after that write your name , Account no , branch name and signature on the back side of that stick damage note.
5. Remember in order to do this process, you need to have a BOC bank account.
6. then count the value of these damage notes, and fill the deposit slip with that count.
7. go to the bank counter 
8. hand over these damaged notes to counter with deposit slip 
9. Then bank update your pass book against the damaged notes value.
